这款资料片的剧情接续原作，发生在原作结尾与KingofShadows的BOSS战之后。 当玩家深埋地下然后复苏，发现自己孑然一身却被一群邪恶势力所包围……资料片中，玩家将能体验到新战役、新关卡、新技能和符咒，还有新种族和新的等级；可以招募新同伴、获得新武器/新盔甲，遇到新怪物。《NeverwinterNights2》首作曾发行过数款资料片，用10种语言行销40个国家，累计售出300万份。 《无冬之夜2叛逆者的面具》将于今年秋季在北美和欧洲上市。
