《Prey》讲述了切罗基族的汽车修理工Tommy的奇遇，在一次意外中Tommy唤醒了自己潜在的精神力量和遗忘已久的权利，他和他的人民一度被绑架到一个邪恶的母星球，他为了拯救自己和他的女朋友还有他们自己的星球开始了自己的旅程。《Prey》是一个严肃、黑暗的故事，依据切罗基的神话改编。爱、牺牲、责任把故事引入一个情感深厚的世界，是其他同类游戏中所不及的。《Prey》中玩家进入了一个未知的世界。巨大的太空仓里，引出了主人公Tommy的故事。《Prey》的发售日大致定在了7月10日。
　《Prey》运用了Joseph's Campbell着名作品《英雄的旅途》（The Hero's Journey）的框架打造出主角形象。Campbell的知名神话故事同样运用在了George Lucas的《星球大战》（Star Wars）中天行者Luke的故事中。
