《Aspects of Love》写于1983年，1989年在伦敦首演，在第二年在纽约百老汇首演，一年半之后停演，不久后在伦敦也停止了。这样的票房，在韦伯的音乐剧中，的确不能称为成功。
不过，它在音乐方面却是无懈可击的，应该说比之前的《歌剧魅影》更成熟。韦伯的曲调悠扬动听，而且与他先前的作品不同，《Aspects of Love》从开始到结束，所有的歌曲溶为一体，而没有明显的歌与歌之间的空档。韦伯的所谓三段式歌曲，在该剧的名曲Love Changes Everything里得到最大的发挥。此歌在音乐剧还没公演的时候就已经在英国排行榜上爬到第二位。
而且，《Aspects of Love》也捧红了在《Les Miserables》里初露头角的，后来被称为英国最好的男高音的Michael Ball。没有受过音乐训练的Michael all在唱Love Changes Everything的最后一段时，因为不知道自己可以唱得多高而试着唱到极限(B-Flat），韦伯觉得这个效果很好就修改了原来的乐谱。而且，为了让Michael Ball表现他的高音天赋(也为了让观众对此歌留下更深印象)，韦伯不惜更改故事，使Michael Ball可以在最后再唱一遍Love Changes Everything。
《Aspects of Love》的剧情曲折复杂，有些地方甚至可以说是匪疑所思。顾名思义，这是一个围绕这着爱情发展的故事，但是错综复杂的人物关系以及他们不合情理的行为，很难使该剧成为优秀的爱情故事。《Aspects of Love》的失败，不能不说与其怪异的剧情有关.但其中一些歌曲真的非常好听。
