Disclaimer: Works best with iPhone 5
This application is designed to be used with the new iPhone 5, however, works on older devices including the iPhone 3G S. Users with devices older than the iPhone 5 may encounter performance issues. __________________________________________________
Main features:
Left side-menu:
The menu situated on the left side, which can be produced by swiping to the right, provides the user with a multitude of functions. Not only can you access your home timeline, favorites, mentions and nearby tweets, but you also get an overview over your lists and current trending topics.
At the top left of the left side menu is a preferences icon, which allows you to adjust settings like the font size, your mute filters, the current language and the current theme.
LastOwl lets you add and manage multiple accounts and makes transitions between them exceptionally easy. The accounts are also situated in the left side menu and are presented by a swipable account scroller. Changing an account is as easy as swiping to the preferred one. The plus button right above the scroller lets you add additional accounts.
Lists can be created, edited and viewed right from the left menu panel. Swipe on the list in question to remove/edit it, click the plus in the lists header to add one.
In order to compose a Tweet, tap on the top right icon in your Main Timeline. The prompted window will let you choose images from your library or take one if you choose to do so. You can also specify which one of your accounts you want to tweet from, so that you do not have to switch your account prior to publishing your Tweet.
Interaction with Tweets is quite easy as well. Just tap & HOLD a Tweet for about a second and keep your finger down (!) to reveal the quick menu, which lets you retweet/reply/quote the tweet, or follow/unfollow/mute the user who composed the Tweet.
Your profile consists of three stacked cubes which are all rotatable. When the top cube is rotated to the left and let go, you can follow the profile's user. If you rotate it to the right, you can message the owner of the profile. The middle cube lets you edit your profile (rotation to the left) or manage your accounts (rotation to the right). The bottom cube has to be rotated at the edges. It is rotatable 360 degrees and has 4 states:
1) Profile Info (0 degrees rotation - original state) 2) the user's feed (90 degree rotation) 3) The user's followers (180 degree rotation) 4) The users friends (270 degree rotation)
Messages can be sent and received. You can either go to the potential recipient's profile and swipe the top cube to the right, or use the button in the top left corner of the messages view.
The search view will let you search Twitter and explore current trending categories (and their users). You can search the social network's tweets by term, search users by name or open a profile with a known Twitter handle (@name).
We currently do not support Push Notifications due to limitations by Twitter. The necessary technical requirements are in place and working, but we need to get permission by Twitter to enable this feature. We are vehemently trying to get hold of this right.
